Atrenta Bolsters Sales & Marketing Infrastructure to Support Accelerated Growth

Charles Schadewitz & John Rizzo Bring Significant Experience to Management Team

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Atrenta Inc., a leading provider of advanced electronic design automation (EDA) solutions to the global semiconductor industry, today announced a significant expansion of its corporate infrastructure by naming veteran EDA sales executive, Charles Schadewitz, as vice president of worldwide sales. In addition, the company bolstered its marketing organization with several key executive hires.

Reporting to chairman, president and chief executive officer, Dr. Ajoy Bose, Schadewitz's charter at Atrenta is to create a sales infrastructure that expands the company's global customer base. With the company's portfolio of predictive development solutions already capturing a strong foothold within the global IC design community, Schadewitz will build on this success by leading the sales team and spearheading innovative new sales initiatives. He joins Atrenta from Cadence Design Systems, where he served as vice president of sales and manager of the company's major accounts program. Before that, he held the same role at EDA start-up, Simplex Solutions. Schadewitz holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Atrenta's marketing function will benefit from the addition of two new executives who will report to vice president of marketing, John Rizzo, who came on board last June. Reporting to Dr. Bose, Rizzo brings significant global marketing vision and expertise to Atrenta, having served in similar roles at Intel Corporation, Oracle, Informative and Apple Computer. Rizzo holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

New to Rizzo's marketing organization is Simon Young, who joins Atrenta as one of the company's senior business unit directors. He comes from Nassda, where he spent time as a product line director. Before Nassda, Young worked at Synopsys, Silicon Metrics, Mentor Graphics, Intel and Texas Instruments, where he held a variety of increasingly responsible positions. He holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering Imperial College in London.

Alan Feinberg also joins Atrenta as senior business unit director, having served most recently as vice president of marketing and North American sales at Monterey Design Systems. Before starting his own consulting business, Tekstart, Feinberg held several director-level sales and sales operations roles at Synopsys, including director of North American sales operations and director of western area sales. Alan holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rochester, and a master of business administration from Northeastern University. Both Feinberg and Young will help shape and expand the company's global brand presence to capture mind and market share for its product portfolio.

"These talented executives add great depth to our management team," said Dr. Bose. "Atrenta's steady growth over the past few years is testament to the strength of our technology and its increasing adoption by the world's IC design community. We've reached the point now where we need to expand our infrastructure to match the sales momentum and meet the requirements of our long-term strategic growth plans. We're counting on our new executives to help champion that effort."
